Description
The wind rotor is, together with the alternator, the heart of a wind system. It is generally made up of a hub on which a certain number of blades are anchored.
Our M28 vertical axis wind rotor with double DARRIEUS/SAVONIUS combined profile allows you to maximize efficiency: the Darrieus profile captures a large volume of air and work at high speeds; the Savonius profile lowers the start-up and increase the torque.
Also available in 6-blade version (6 vertical Darrieus blades / 6 horizontal Savonius blades), which allows you to capture twice the wind in the same volume unit, doubling the power while the SAVONIUS/DARRIEUS hybrid rotor improves performance even at low revs.
Self-braking: due to its intrinsic aerodynamic nature, the Savonius profile is self-braking. A vertical axis wind turbine does not need a brake in case of turbulence. As the rotational speed increases, in fact, the blade, which is geared against the wind, acts as a brake, limiting and stabilizing the rotation speed.
